I have Kontact running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 here at work
talking to Microsoft Exchange with a mailbox having 20 000+ messages.
- Mail (using imap) works.
- Contacts using Filter (|(&(objectCategory=Group)(mail=*))
(objectCategory=User)) works.
- Calendar mostly works. Occassionally loose an appointment when adding to the
Exchange calendar so I have to check after accepting an appointment.
- Mail search works and is relatively quick.

Another mail client you might want to look at is Mailody
(http://www.mailody.net/) - a mail client with a slightly different interface
so the standard one. It's still under development but is suppose to be quite
stable (though I haven't tried it myself).
