I have been avoiding pixma... canon in general.
With consumer, you need to pay close attention to the criteria for the
recommendation. They are not at all technically savvy so actual
excellence is not normally a well-measured criterion. It's probably a
mixture or price + features and a bit of consumer support.

pixma mp<anything> is not in the cups database.
