There goes pdf as open interchangable document format. Replace one
monopolist with another. Adobe is obviously only interested in pushing
their "open" standards until they become a de-facto standard, and then
doing a Microsoft with them. See the forever shoddy implementation of
acroread for Linux, or the SVG vector image file format. The letter being
pushed by Adobe in reponse to Macromedia's proprietory xyz, but now that
Macromedia==Adobe, SVG has quietly fallen by the wayside.
