[nzlug] Linux in NZ District Councils?

G'day all,

here in wonderful North Otago we recently had a rather futile attempt  
at getting the guy in charge for IT (not the actual system  
administrator, although he was just as aghast) interested in adding a  
F/LOSS underbelly to the council's IT infrastructure to reduce the  
horrendous licensing fees this rather cash strapped council is paying  
to M$.

To add some details to a submission to the annual plan and prove that  
I am not a complete loon, does somebody out there know of councils  
using F/LOSS in NZ?

I have met a number of sysadmins from Australian district councils  
using Linux within the council's IT infrastructure at LCA2007, so I  
wouldn't be surprised if there are Kiwi equivalents.
