[nzlug] Bugger!

A couple of nights ago my Linux box went 'pop!' when I switched it on. I was
half expecting to find it was a blown capacitor in the power supply but
instead a little transformer (not the main one) had shorted a turn or
something and blown all the solder off two of its terminals. Bugger! (as
Toyota would say). Probably not easy to match.

So I got a new power supply, but now I have no monitor picture. The hard
drives start up and the CD drives light their lights momentarily after I
press Reset, but that's it. No BIOS beeps or anything. I presume that
means the power supply took a perfectly good motherboard and quite possibly a
perfectly good Athlon 2000 CPU with it when it went. BUGGER!

I'm not sure I need advice, I suspect I just need sympathy. <g>
