Hi Vik,

I'd recommend getting one with an Intel graphics chipset in it, for
example the i915gm chipset.

Intel chipsets are well supported in linux, compared to ATI and Nvidia
and have open source drivers. Keith Packard has been developing xrandr
1.2, which also allows you to use both screens in a nice way, and hot
pluggable without restarting X.
