I have an older model (half Gb) which works just fine, handling ogg
files which are somewhat superior to MP3s IMHO. Of course, I don't
use any of the supplied software. It mounts as a USB disk which can
be managed as any other file system, and I don't know what else one
would want to do.
One thing I was very impressed with the quality of its microphone.
Not very long ago, microphones costing hundreds of dollars couldn't
have done a better job.
