Still very much in development.  Very geekish development crowd who are 
determined that everything is theoretically so-so.  Not seriously usable 
at present.

Considerable progress has been made.  Less than one CD seven years ago to 
17 discs for K16 for Debian GNU/Hurd.

The Hurd is the next generation os after the unix family.
