Pet Peeve: It's PPP and PAP; it's not DHCP.
DHCP is used within a Layer 2 ethernet environment from a DHCP Server.

*snip*
The DNS servers authoritive for a domain name are not necessarily the ones
that clients should be getting assigned / should be manually specifying
when they want DNS servers to resolve things on day-to-day.
ISPs of size (Xtra in particular) have suffered hard, because the DNS
servers used to host domain names were also the ones that client's used...
until they got so big that they had to split them off. Clients get
different DNS servers auto-assigned these days. (Its relatively hard to
load-share DNS compared to say, MX or www traffic, when you have to
hard-specify IP addresses (and not hostnames) into a config.)
In the event you have to specify DNS servers manually in the resolv.conf,
use what the ISP has supplied you (or call the helpdesk for the info). If
taken from the web, make sure that the context theyre being supplied in,
confirms their purpose...
