Not bad, although I only use it on the desktop so I only have subjective 
performance measurements. I mostly use it to run WinXP to check browser 
compatibility for the sites I'm developing (thank you, IE development 
team, for all the extra hours of work), and to try out new flavours of 
Linux/BSD.

As would be expected, kqemu makes a huge difference because it turns 
qemu into a virtualiser instead of an emulator. I don't think I would 
like to use it as my full-time work environment but it's fast enough to 
not be frustrating when I do need to use it.
