Not sure - wherever it is has about 1GB free space (since trying to write 3GB
gets a 'need 2111 MB more space' error message), but my home directory has
~1GB free, so coincidentally does my /tmp directory. I think they're on
the same partition anyway.
gconf-editor was the answer, as it happens.
