[nzlug] DVD Writing Woes

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I was writing DVD's in Ubuntu. Eventually though, things
started to turn sour. While it was writing a DVD, it stopped at the
finalizing disc stage. The DVD writer was locked up and I couldn't
kill the process still using it, so I decided that for once a reboot
might be in order.

However, now when I try to write a DVD, it goes from "preparing disc"
to "finalizing disc" in around 30 seconds. It then ejects the disc,
tells me that writing failed.

It also writes something to the DVD so the blanks are no longer usable.

This is happening with nautilus's burning folder thingee (not sure
what it's called) and k3b.

Has anyone ever come across this problem and have any ideas on how I
might fix this?
