My experiences:
A few weeks ago, got a Brother HL-2040 laser from PBTech Hamilton.
Has USB/parallel interface.
Running Ubuntu Dapper 6.06.
Using CUPS? (generic print setup util in above OS), printer recognised
via USB as Brother HL-2060 (Driver used is default 'hl1250'.
Seems to print OK (haven't tried graphics/etc., just text), haven't had
a good play yet, but 'It Just Works' which is 'A Good Thing' :-)
Elroy.
HTH.
