Hi Dirk

I did a similar thing recently (new distro onto existing desktop). I
found a few inconsistencies between some apps in their user data storage
location, e.g. /home/thunderbird vs /home/mozilla-thunderbird.

No big deal though, but I wimped out and didn't just remount /home on
the new box as I planned... I just copied the /home data (and /etc data)
for the apps I needed, and checked each in turn to ensure no probs.

I made sure UIDs matched first.

Cheers
H
