I have got broad band working but have struck
a problem.
Eth0 was down after a reboot and the desktop
icon was insisting it was not configured.
After many attempts to get it going I took
the card out intending to replace it - but
found all my cards unsuitable so put it back
in the meantime. When I booted it was up.
But stubbornly down again after a reboot.
Removal and reinstallation of LAN with
drak does not seem to help.
Today I replaced the card with one from DSE.
This worked on first boot up but is also
down after a reboot (according to the panel
icon) and I am not able to
get it up again? I am running Mandriva 2006
Xmas edition.
The following command does not cause a complaint
but the icon still insists eth0 is down and I cannot
browse to the modem router. 192.168.1.1.
Dynalink ADSL2+ Wireless Modem Router.
(Not using wireless currently)
[root at localhost Desktop]# ifconfig eth0 up

The frustrating part is trying to search for a solution
with dialup. Its so slow.
Any help would be appreciated
