Hmm, it only wants to use /dev/dsp - at least in the incarnation in the
Ubuntu repository.

Still, GLAME allowed the editing, but I had to save as WAV and use lame
to convert to MP3. Ironically, GLAME didn't seem to support lame out of
the box and wanted me to recompile it!

Yes, I know MP3 isn't legal in some parts of the world, distros shy away
from adding support etc. To the "use ogg then" crowd, I'll have to add
that my Treo 600 doesn't do ogg - it's too old to have had Pocket Tunes
on it and I can buy an MP3 player for less than the cost of the closed
source Pocket Tunes player!

Grrrrrrrrrr! And I have Gottendamnerung toothache!
