If you are installing a debian based system, then you should look at
installing apt-proxy on one of your machines, and changing all of your
sources.list files to point to that rather than the main mirrors. This
will significantly reduce the volume you need to download as each
package will only be downloaded once.  You could also just copy your
package archive around, but apt-proxy is abit nicer.

I don't know if there's an equivalent for rpm based distros.
