The best suggestion I've heard so far relating to grey listing is to
only greylist when you already suspect a sender of being "dodgy".

ie.

if sender in RBL or fails reverse lookup => greylist
else => straight to spam filtering

Particularly if you use a dial-up RBL then you can get many of the
benefits of greylisting while hopefully avoiding it's use (and
disadvantages) for many hosts that you commonly receive legitimate mail
from.
