[nzlug] Stale "who" entries

Hi,

when an SSH connection breaks down, I frequently end up with stale entries in 
the output of "who". Is there a way to remove them?

root     pts/0        2006-09-23 16:31 (ultra2.wmf.dyndns.org)
sarah    pts/1        2006-10-08 09:28 (calypso.wmf.dyndns.org)
peter    pts/2        2006-10-09 09:14 (fides.wmf.dyndns.org)
michael  pts/3        2006-09-05 21:48

In the list above, the last entry does not seem to have any process associated 
with it, i.e., ps -ef |grep "pts/3" returns nothing except for the grep 
itself.
