You could try Xubuntu, it's Ubuntu with the xfce desktop environment.  
If you already have running Ubuntu (or Kubunutu) desktop you can just:

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

Then log out of gnome (or KDE), choose xfce as the desktop manager and 
you're done.

Otherwise you can download CD images here: http://www.xubuntu.org/

You could always install other desktop/window managers yourself as well.
