Oh, you don't have to have a need. Skype does it for you. Regularly.

Actually it tends to just lock the machine up to the point where you can
ping it but sod all else works (including keyboard lights). It has this
habit of killing timers that don't belong to it. A good way to crash a
Linux box running the latest Skype is to try and attach a video call to
it from a Mac. Don't be running anything important on the Mac at the
time, either...
