So what you're telling me is that first there was some unknown (alien?)  
proprietary technology (that somehow fell into Novell's lap with the  
aquisition of Suse) that MS copied and turned into .NET and THEN Miguel de  
thingibob came and copied the copied technology from MS and turned it into  
Mono?

Now that is confusing. No wonder I was never able to become a computer  
scientist or lawyer.
