Thanks for the details. I've just tried the same thing here with r80
and your config files (changed to suit my network). No joy
unfortunately. dhclient times out, there is no IP address associated
with the interface and trying to bring the card up using ifconfig causes
the "link is not ready" message to be printed to dmesg. I tried this
with WPA enabled.

I guess that could be my problem, I'm running:
Linux laptop 2.6.15-27-386 #1 PREEMPT Sat Sep 16 01:51:59 UTC 2006 i686
GNU/Linux

Another strange thing: I tried the latest ndiswrapper stable build with
the latest windows drivers from the Atheros site (they've taken over the
previous vendor). I tried this without WPA and got exactly the same
"link is not ready" message in dmesg.

I've read on several forums that people have had problems with this card
in Ubuntu using both the open-source driver and ndiswrapper. One person
apparently managed to get ndiswrapper working with a windows driver
downloaded from some unspecified location (dontcha hate those posts that
say "it works!" but don't say how).

Thanks for your help anyway.

Cheers

Peter
