[nzlug] IPCop box retiring. Getting NetGear DG834 ADSL Router. Comments? Wise move?

Ok, so Telecom has finally put a DSLAM in the Rolleston D cabinet, so
I've ordered ADSL thru Orcon and I'm (thinking of) getting a NetGear
DG834 ADSL Router.

This means my IPCop box is redundant since the Netgear has a
linux-based firewall built-in.

I'd like to re-deploy the IPCop box as an answerphone/fax server.

Can anyone think of any reason why I shouldn't do any or all of the above
(ie: go with Orcon/use netgear instead of ipcop/use a PC as a fax/answerphone)

Finally, what's the best way to use an ex-ipcop box as a
fax/answerphone (the modem is a real hardware PCI modem)

Finally finally, should these questions have been posed in separate threads?
