Realistically, yes, as well as backup MX servers etc. if you are hosting it on 
a home connection, and reverse DNS etc. to make sure you aren't in any DNSBLs

But... to be honest, it's probably best not to set up a mail server which as 
accessible to the Internet if you aren't 100% sure of what you are doing. 
It's a quick way to get into trouble with SPAM etc.

If you need/want to set one up, then start with a mail server that is only 
accessible to your local network and do lots of reading and playing to make 
sure that you know what you are doing before you open it up to the big bad 
Internet.
