I wonder if that's a Paypal habit or phishing emails - "Your Paypal account
has been frozen - click on this link" [to go to a spurious website and enter
all your personal details so we can rob you]
I get 2 or 3 of those a week, also from Ebay, ASB, Trademe (!) and any number
of other banks and financial institutions I've never belonged to. The
Paypal and Ebay ones I forward to spoof at paypal/ebay.com

That's a cautious approach but works if your income / outgoings are roughly
equal.
