In my experience - no.
PPPoA assigns the real world IP address to the device doing the connecting 
- its a standalone appliance, not a 'modem'.

If you have an Internal DSL Modem (they do exist, although are not hugely 
common these days) you dont have this issue.

Otherwise you need to look for a 'DMZ' type functionality where you end up 
with an 'all ports are NAT'd' type configuration.

Welcome to the world of PPPoA and New Zealand ADSL.
I live with a Double-NAT situation and pinholes for services I want 
forwarded through from outside. I actually kinda like the 'virtual 
firewall' this creates, though it is kinda blind.
