Good Morning all,
SitesOnline Australasia are a web hosting provider based in
Auckland. We have come to the point where we need someone who
is going to continue our need to proactively manage OS upgrades
and a support person to complement our existing support staff.
SitesOnline deals with both Linux and Windows web hosting -
currently with a mix of RedHat and CentOS machines. There is
the odd debian machine in there, Linux is the predominant OS.
You will need to be able to work remotely from home - first
and foremost you will already have at least 2 years of
commercial system administration of linux machines (Microsoft
Windows would also be a bonus). This includes installing
updates of Linux, Apache, Mysql, PostgreSQL as well as some
proprietary software. You will be well versed with ensuring
backups are working and verified prior to an upgrade.
Implementing a 'Plan B' will be a sub-conscious re-action.
Given that the position will involve communicating to staff
and clients via remote means, having excellent communication skills
is a major prerequisite.
The hours are flexible - although given that this deals with
upgrades to machines it would be preferred if the hours were
predominately outside the normal NZ working hours.
For further information or to provide a CV, please contact SitesOnline
directly: jobs at soa.net
Thanks,
Warren.
