One / partition, and a /home partition

I tried Knoppix 3.3. Knoppix can see the partition, and even access the
partition in the GUI after mounting it. However, if I unmount it and run
reiserfsck on it I get "cannot open device". Perhaps its not recent
enough...

Alas I don't have a Ubuntu Live CD - although I suppose I could download
and cut a copy.
