[nzlug] Linux Laptop?

Both myself and a guy from work have Sony Vaio's that have proved to be
very happy running Linux (although his one has an ATi card, whereas mine
got the NVidia one).

I know personally on mine I have all the drivers for everything that I
use every day working. The only things I haven't got working (or have
even bothered to get working) are the internal Intel modem and the
memory stick slot. Otherwise everything else works, or I've seen a how
to to get it working (eg the 'special' extra keys on the top, etc).

Available at Noel Leeming, SonyStyle (which may let you boot a Linux CD
on one of their display models) and it may pay to check on
pricespy.co.nz to see if you can get it any cheaper.

There is a Linux laptop support site somewhere, I'll see if I can dig
the URL up for you as well.
