Yes, that occurred to me, and I will do that. I can do better than timing it
though - I can watch the 'outgoing' line on the graph in KPPP - the gaps when
it 'stalls' show up.

I have had noise on the line sometimes (like, when you can hear it in your
telephone, that's line noise!) But I don't think it's the present reason
simply because uploads to Trademe via my Sarge setups have consistently
'choked' for the last two weeks, while uploads to e.g. Freeshare.us (a
picture hosting site) via Clear have worked perfectly, so has ftp, so have
uploads to Trademe with my old Woody setup or with W98. (Unless of course
Woody and W98 default to a small MTU size).
