The PC maker Lenovo, is planning to announce pre-loading SUSE Linux
Enterprise Desktop 10 on its ThinkPad T60p at the LinuxWorld Conference
later this month. (http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1999060,00.asp)
Analysis of this is on the Linux Desktop site at
http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS7778908329.html who also give the specs
for the laptop "The T60p isn't just any laptop. It boasts a high-end, 2GHz
Intel Core Duo processor T2500, with a minimum of 512MB of RAM, which can
be pushed up to 2GB of memory. For graphics, it uses an ATI FireGL V5200
with 256MB of RAM."
Now for the bad news, the T60p costs NZ$ 5,044
(http://www.pricespy.co.nz/pno_8696.html)
Hopefully we'll see this trend followed for lower specced machines before
too much longer.
