Just to aid in the off topic-ness ... there's always eclipse which is
cross platform - it's a 'full' IDE and you can get a vi plugin for
it ... there's quite possibly "games" plugins as well ...
Other than that, I have vim installed on all my OS'es that currently
run (or a variant thereof)...
Emacs I did try a number of years ago ... and I still awake
screaming ...
