It's always the way :) even when doing plain desktop stuff, I have a 
collection of terminals open. Using it as a file manager is just so much 
faster and (especially) more powerful than a GUI manager for anything more 
than the most basic tasks. Also, using screen[1], I have a set of apps (like 
a calendar program[0]) that I can access from home, work, uni, or wherever 
else.

[0] 'remind' is very powerful, and fairly convenient to use with the 'wyrd' 
frontend.
[1] Learn screen. You'll be glad you did. It is wonderfully useful for using 
the command line/terminals.
