When we started KLUG, we didn't have a mailing list, so it was more useful to meet. But with a mailing list, we can use it for whatever we want at any time and the people who may wish to get together for a specific purpose (whatever) can do that as and when convenient for those concerned. This sounds good to me, particularly as getting down there from Foxton has been difficult since I started my new job back in February. The main thing is we, each of us, knows that we can contact other (relatively) local linux users through this list at any time. That's a huge step up on flying solo in a void. :-) Evolution. Cool.
