Thursday already. Yow.

That means a meeting for tonight. 7:30pm at Thomas Kennedy Junior
Academy, 98 Glen Rd (it's really across the road from 98 Glen Rd as the
school covers two corners of the street).

I have it on schedule to bring along the movie "Revolution-OS" which,
while being a bit long winded, gives a very insightful look at the story
of how Linux got made and how it was "discovered". There are a lot of
interesting side projects which affected the process, that perhaps too
few people really know about.

...anyway, I digress. We are also looking again at the direction of
KLUG. This may or may not mean the above movie gets "held" for another
session. Depends how time goes. Depends on the mood. etc.

For myself, I would be interested if someone would show me whether it's
possible to stream rendering in Blender 3D across several computers,
making a renderfarm. I am wanting to use Blender in the senior class
this term, and am predicting large rendering jobs being a problem
otherwise. I have ClusterKnoppix which contains Blender, but not the
newer "thread friendly" version required for farming. Maybe a solution
is to import a newer version on USB stick? I dunno. I may be forced to
overwrite the lower install on all farm boxes, which may not be possible
if booting ClusterKnoppix from a read-only CD, and as usual I've run out
of time looking for other solutions. Maybe someone at KLUG knows how to
get things going.

Anyway. That's what would be valuable for me.

So, I'll be at the door at 7:30 tonight.

Haven't heard anything from the list of late. Hope people are able to
make it.

Lancer.
