[klug] Ubuntu Upgrade

I was thinking of taking the plunge and upgrading my laptop - and
leaving the desktop 'puter alone (Dapper 6.06) as I do all my pro work
on it - however, I don't think I'll bother now  ;-)

Slightly off topic: I've installed the 686-smp kernel (on my desktop
box) via synaptic package manager ...is it safe to uninstall the 386
kernel? Everything, so far, appears to be working.
