Hi all, I have a whole bunch of Ubuntu discs that I'd like to put into the P'ram library (for people to take) + the KLUG poster I hit together last year (my wife says aok - she works there) ...only if you guys are keen that is. I haven't been coming to the KLUG meetings as I find Linux is still behind with DTP - Scribus is getting there but it's lack of direct pdf import is still a problem. (I receive pdfs from designers and I need to import them directly into my page layout program +++ colour management is almost non existent in Linux (a Big problem). However, don't write me off as yet ...it's only a matter of time. Xara is porting to Linux and they're, of course, aware of Linux's lack of colour management + Scribus will get there re pdf import. http://www.xaraxtreme.org/ I'm using The GIMP for most of my image work now. For 'bitmap image' work I do find The GIMP to be the best there is - re brushes, channels, masking and so on. The current lack of CMYK is not a problem as an image can be imported into another app and exported via CMYK. I've copied/pasted the poster as below ...I hope it travels ok I'll soon find out :-D Cheers, Peter
