Well I've had a bit of a chance to sit down and try and get it working. I have sorted the lock file problem and also the user has access to ttyS0. The modem dials, handshakes and transfers data, from what I can see in the log files etc. The modem is definately connected as the phone is busy. When I try to load up google in the browser nothing loads, I ping the ip address of google and get no response, I ping the host name of google and nothing comes back. I'm thinking that I don't have the DNS settings right, but these are what I have been given from Clear. Could be also that my NIC which is connected to an internal LAN is interfering, but if I disable it I still get the same issue. Thanks for your time on this Graeme, do you or anyone else have any ideas?
