I didnt want to configure the kernel
Just trying to get you to fix the broken install that you have stuffed up
if you are wanting production yet you cant get SuSE running ( a very simple
OS to install) how are you going to produce anything worth while?
Do you use C++
Linux is written in C++ or maybe perl
Linux has alot of that too
why have you come to a Linux Users Mail list if you want
to go on about how good microthingy is??
I take it you are a newbie, in which case you shouldnt really be
talking about the intimate differences between distros of Linux!
especially when it is obvious that you havnt installed a simple OS properly
The instructions I gave you where basic permission based instructions
and maybe after you read something before installing you might be fine!
Thats the problem with microsoft users, they are used to having everything
dictated to them by Bill Gates and when confronted with choices their mind
freezers.
I dont know how I can help you save getting you to read something before
installing.

try: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/5855/2/

it about how after a proper instal SuSE 9.3 is better, faster etc etc
and how to do it
I typed "installing SuSE 9.3" on google
Simple really

Good Luck

Ben
