Good Day Group Members,
I have just  joined the group and wish to extend my activity with Linux. 
However I have hit my first hurdle, that of selecting and downloading a 
copy for regular use.  I tried Knoppix which a member gave me last year 
and found it very good , However I guess that there are many 
improvements since. I have looked at a number of websites and found it 
quite confusing  when trying to digest the attributes of each.
So would one of you experienced users offer me some of your wisdom?
Q' Which distro is best for a new user (considerable experience in Dos 
and Win - not  agreeny.)
Q  Partitioning - My hdd is partitioned at present but I think it was 
done with dos and is probably not sutable - so what do I need there NTFS 
or fat32 or??
Q In respect of distributions, which site is the most straightforward to 
download from?
