Seems to me like we may have at least two newbies along visiting "just looking" as well as us not having a particular focus (or did I miss something?). Whatever we do on Thursday should be aimed at entertaining newbies and also the more experienced. Why don't we download some ISO's of all the various Live-CD distros... I'm thinking maybe the Games ones, the Educational ones, the latest Knoppix and the like. We could "showcase" the live CD's around the room by having them running on the boxes surrounding the class. I think newbies would be very interested by this and the more experienced would at least be curious as long as the live CD's cover a good variety. ...and then, if someone would be able to supply a box with a ripper, perhaps we could have a burning session where we copy the Live CDs by request? Maybe a "I'll give you two blank CD's for each one you burn for me me " or similar deal? This way, we could show the newbies about running boot disks and give them something they can immediately take away and play with as well. Just a floating idea. Do people agree / disagree? Any particular Live CD distros people are curious about seeing? Lancer.
