One activity the larger LUGs do at least once each year is an "install
fest". 

You find a venue, arrange for Internet access (if possible), and
encourage people to bring their computer along so you can install Linux
on it. 

Preferably a bare machine.
Preferably they don't have any serious data on it. 
No liability for problems / stuff-ups or lost data. 

It's usually a lot of fun (I'm told)....and you can get some coverage
and maybe a photo in the newspapers.
