I downloaded FF 1.06...and installed it.

It's picked up all my settings from the usual place and everything work 
fine now.

Oddly, Xandros wouldn't let me un-install the Firefox package it had 
installed, claiming there were multiple KDE sessions......blah...blah.

All working fine now.
