I thought helping people install VNC on their Windows systems and letting them control a Linux system over the Internet might be do-able. Or send them a live-CD like Knoppix to play with. I used to make those up and give them away. Cheapo and cheerful and not requiring large amounts of resource. Another idea is approaching groups like Rotary and offering to talk about Open Source software - at home and at work and for voluntary organisations. A sort of speaker's bureau.
