[hblug] Free Windows Apps

My mum's old one did that. I never tested her new one (replaced after 
theft) so I can't confirm this is a "common" case. the only other DVD 
players I have are in my PC, my PS3 and my PS2. all of which can already 
display jpegs, or at least be made to display jpegs.
