Now for the good news... Microsoft Office 2007 XML is not ISO OOXML.
What OOXML finally looks like has not been 100% settled yet. Yes ISO has
agreed, subject to forthcoming appeals, that once the modifications
discussed in the February Ballot Resolution Meeting (BRM) are in place
that OOXML will be ratified.
This leaves Office 2007 XML as an orphan format that may not see the
year out!
