[hblug] Screen Priority Question

On my windoze PC, I run an e-mail program called Eudora.
I also run FF as the default browser, but have Opera for some
sites, and IE lurks, of course. Opera used to be the default
browser.
Something annoying has happened, which I can't seem to find
an in-program settings fix for. Each time a link is clicked in an
e-mail, it brings FF to the front. Whatever I had 'things' set to
before, just opened the browser page - in the background - and
I carried on reading the e-mail.
When I toggled to Opera, there were all the pages that had
been 'called' by the e-mail link clicks.
Is this FF-to-the-front a FF quirk? I can't recall if the problem
started when I changed from Opera, or whether some other
setting got tweaked, with this annoying result.
