I'm sorry, "If you had cd'd into the drive first" was not meant to be an
accusation, but a statement of my understanding. I can see how it could
be read as an accusation. 

Read it as "by cding into a drive first, it shouldn't create these
problems". And i still dont get why or how it did. This is probably one
of those FM events.
