[hblug] Making a dialup connection

pppon gives "no such file or directory" as does sudo pppon
wvdial gives "cannot open /dev/modem: no such file or directory."
sudo wvdial gives the same.
If I change the modem settings to /dev/ttyS1 /S2 /S3 etc, wvdial still
tries to open /dev/modem

maybe the modem is stuffed - I'll try another one tomorrow.
